The Significance Of Annual Solar Returns

Wishing Somebody "Happy Returns" Is Not A Mere Ritual

-- Astrologers use the technical word "Return" to mean the travel of a planet through the twelve signs of the zodiac and finally returning to a position it held on the day you were born. So you have a Martian Return, where the Mars returns in its position at your birth every two years. You have the Jupiter which returns every twelve years. The Saturn, ho hum, takes about 29 years or so. And then you have the grand Solar Return, which is the return of the Sun to the same position it was when you were born, and this it does every year, around approximately the same time of your birthday. Ergo, your birthday and the Solar Return are (more-or-less) the same. In case you didn't know already, this is why people wish you "Many happy 'returns'" on your birthday!
